Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so I’ve rounded up the best of our best Valentines crafts for Tweens and Teens. From stamping and string-art to folded paper hearts and paper roses, we’ve got you covered. If you have older kids of your own, or in your after-school program, they’ll love these creative ideas.
My oldest daycare kids are in their tweens and teens now, so many of the recent Valentines crafts on my blog are geared for that age group. I thought it would be fun to round them up and put them here in one place for you.

Sweet Valentine’s Craft Ideas for Ages 8 and Up
Paper Fortune Cookie Valentines – Here’s a cool alternative to traditional Valentines cards. Tweens and teens can make these Fortune Cookie Valentines easily with a paper circle and two simple folds.
Block Printing Valentines Cards – This Styrofoam Print Making process is so fun and addictive, so it’s a good think you can make loads of prints from just one template! No fancy equipment required! This activity can be done by younger kids too, but guaranteed, your older kids will love it.
Tissue Paper Roses – If your teen has a special someone they’d like to give a rose to, these Tissue Paper Roses are easy to make and they look so real! Heck they can give their Valentine a whole bouquet!
Cardboard Cookie Valentines – These Cardboard Valentines Cookie Valentines look good enough to eat. Your kids can get creative making each cookie look unique. Write a message on the back of your cookies and hand them out to friends. You could even put them on a paper plate to pass them out. My 9, 12 and 13 year old LOVED decorating these.
Painted Worry Stones – I made these Painted Heart Worry Stones for kids who have worries and separation anxiety, but your tweens and teens could make them with their friends in mind.
Glittered Clay Dough Hearts – If your tween loves a good glitter craft they’ll love our glittered clay dough heart ornaments. You only need 2 ingredients plus water to make the clay. Sharpies could be used to write messages on the backs of these hearts.
Cardboard String Art Heart Ornaments – If your kids like making string art, they’ll enjoy making these Cardboard String Art Heart Ornaments. The nice thing is you don’t require wood, nails or a hammer to make these cool designs.
Yarn-Wrapped Pipe Cleaner Hearts – I accidentally discovered this process when I was playing around with some pipe cleaners and yarn the other day. It’s and easy craft but advanced fine motor skills are required, so these Yarn-Wrapped Pipe Cleaner Hearts are perfect for older kids.
Folded Paper Hearts Craft – Young teenagers generally love paper folding crafts, so these Fan-Fold Hearts are always a hit. We marbleized our paper to make our hearts, and that’s a fun activity in itself. The details are in the post.
Paper Towel Rose Craft – Making these Paper Towel Roses is similar to making our tissue paper roses, but we use a really cool technique to dye the paper towels first. Your kids will love it.
Tissue Paper Valentines Hearts – These Tissue Paper Hearts are easy enough for young children to make, but older kids can get creative planning their design. Instead of simply crumpling the tissue paper, they can twist the squares of tissue paper around the end of a pencil like we did back when we were in school.
