With the flowers blooming and the weather warming, Spring is our favorite season. And we aren’t the only ones:
The calendar year might start January 1st, but to me the new year starts best in spring! Fresh shoots poking up out of the earth, new growth on old shrubs and trees, baby animals and birds, the return of warmth and longer days—what’s not to love?!

If you’re enjoying all the things that come with the new season, here are some of our favorite spring crafts for kids! Many of them are classic Artful Parent favorites, with a Spring twist.
Spring Craft Ideas for Kids
1. Try Flower Printing
Start by gathering flowers and leaves from your garden or backyard. Then you can use just about any kind of paint and paper you have on hand to make gorgeous flower prints.

2. Make a Rainbow Collage
Learn how to create vibrant rainbow art collages using craft supplies. You can use whatever you have on hand: pom poms, pipe cleaners, feathers, buttons, beads, etc. Your kids will love arranging them into a colorful rainbow!

3. Make Spring Pictures with Q-Tip Pointillism
This favorite process art activity lends itself perfectly to springtime. Think rainbows, Easter eggs, butterflies and flowers!

4. Make DIY Flower Crowns and Necklaces!
Use fresh flowers and contact paper to create paper DIY crowns and necklaces for kids with this easy tutorial.

5. Create Sweet Birds and Pinch Pot Nests
Use our favorite air dry clay to form little birds and nests for them. For some extra bling, add sparkly beads and feathers while the clay is still soft.

6. Make Raised Salt Paintings in Spring Shapes
Take one of our all-time favorite art activities and turn it into springtime fun! Think flowers, rainbows, and birds!

7. Make Rainbow Plastic Bead Suncatchers
These rainbow suncatchers are easy to make and perfect for a springtime sunny window!

8. Paint Butterflies
Make some gorgeous spring butterflies using one of our favorite techniques: smush painting! Simply drop blobs of paint on one side of a paper butterfly, fold it closed and then open it for a symmetrical butterfly!

9. Do some Rainbow Scrape Painting
This is the easiest way to make rainbows! Drop colorful blobs of paint onto paper and then scrape it across the paper for a bright rainbow!

10. Create a Bouquet of Tissue Paper Flowers
A simple method for how to make paper flowers with tissue paper, egg cartons, and pipe cleaners. A fun and open-ended flower craft for kids!

11. Make Edible Spring Nests
Whip up a batch of peanut butter playdough and add some pretzel sticks and a marshmallow peep chick!

12. Try Shaving Cream Marbling
This is another fun and easy process art activity perfect for this time of year. We especially love to make marbled eggs, flowers, and butterflies.
