Outdoor Christmas Lights Brisbane
Some Christmas light regulars spend many years gathering a collection of Christmas lights, inflatables, speciality items and more, often purchasing bargains after the Christmas rush and using websites like HOME, Temple and Webster and other discount sites to add to their collections. Brisbane also has a range of Christmas shops that stock decorations.
If you are unsure about the safety of your Christmas light display, you should consider getting your local fire department out to inspect and you may need to make sure you have proper equipment that separates the lights from your main power source. These are all questions for a professional and if you want an extreme Christmas lights display, then calling an electrician first for advice may be worthwhile.

There are several Christmas Lights competitions across the Greater Brisbane and Ipswich area in 2024 including:

Displays with Lights on Now
The following displays have switched their lights on early (from 16 November 2024).
242 Stanley Road, Carina – A display with a hand made truck and train, a photo booth, bubble machine and lot of fun for all the family. Lights on 1st November 2024 to 1st January 2025, from 6.30pm – 11pm.
45 Paul Tully Avenue, Collingwood Park – Lights on 3rd November 2024 – 4th January 2025, from 6pm – 10pm.
5 Peacock Street, Doolandella – Welcome to Whoville – you’re a mean one, Mr Grinch! Lights on 15th November to 31st December 2024, from 7pm – 11pm.
25 Trailblazer Drive, Flagstone – Very colourful display with a tunnel of lights, giant inflatable gingerbread man, projections and music. The Grinch visits every Saturday night during December handing out candy canes. Lights on 11th November 2024 to 4th January 2025, from 6.30pm – 10pm (weather permitting).
9 Renoir Crescent, Forest Lake – A welcoming family friendly display with lights and inflatables including a real Santa sleigh where you can take a seat and have photos. Candy canes & lolly pops for all children . Lights on 10th November to 31st December 2024, from 5pm – 9.30pm.
171 Allan Street, Hamilton – Lights, inflatables and a synchronised music display. Lights on 13th November to 31st December 2024, from 5.30pm.
9 Victor Street, Holland Park – A wreath hanging in the balcony with a Santa display with LEDs, a bell, a star with a set of deer and a single deer next to a set of multi-coloured lights with hanging decorations with white LED on. Ring with a see-saw motorised mechanical led Santa and elf set. Lights on 7th November 2024 to 3rd January 2025, from 6pm – 8pm (Mon – Fri) and 6.30pm – 8.30pm (Fri – Sun).
16 Kunyam Street, Kippa-Ring – Drive past or hop out and view from the footpath. Massive purple, light up tree with meteor lights. Lights on 11th November to 31st December 2024, from 6.30pm until late.
34 Goodwood Road, Murrumba Downs – A pretty display with waterfall lights off roof, icicles around entire front fence, sparkly reindeer, rope light displays, Christmas tree, and a projector showing Christmas movies from 1st December. Lights on nightly 1st November 2024 to 1st January 2025, from 6pm – 9.30pm.
9 Avondale Crescent, Parkinson – A big display with inflatables, lots of lights, music and maybe some treats for kiddies that walk past. Lights on 15th November 2024 to 4th January 2025, from 6pm – 9pm (all night in the two weeks before Christmas).
43 Hunter Circuit, Petrie – A growing display with lights and inflatables. Lights on 10th November 2024 to 1st January 2025, from 6pm – 9pm.
567 Oxley Avenue, Scarborough – Lights on Oxley Avenue Scarborough. Lights on 7th November 2024 to 1st January 2025, from 6.30pm.
19 Scanlen Crescent, Wynnum West – Around 1km of lights on display with a combination of electric and solar. Lights on 16th November to 28th December 2024, from 7pm – 9pm.
