Let’s make a super easy Christmas tree craft together! This one lets the kids get creative and turns out great every time.
While we used a small sponge brush to make the baubles on this Christmas tree, if you want a more personal project you can have the kids use their fingerprints to make them as well.

You can also have the kids use their old artwork to make these trees. Another way to add a more personal touch to this project.
How to Make Easy Christmas Tree Craft
What you need:
- craft paper
- pencil
- scissors
- glue
- craft paints and watercolors
- paintbrush
- sponge dabber brush (optional)
- yellow color paper
- wooden craft stick
Step by Step Tutorial
If your kids will be using wetter paints like watercolors, get a sheet of craft paper, so that the paper holds up well and doesn’t wrinkle.
Use a pencil to sketch a triangle shape on the paper.
Cut out the triangle.
Paint the triangle with watercolors. No need to stick to just green.
We added purple to our tree as well.
Allow the paint to dry.
Using a sponge brush (or your fingers), create ornaments in various colors.
Let the paint dry.
Cut a star shape from yellow paper and glue it to the top of the tree.
Grab a wooden craft stick.
And glue it to the back of the tree as the trunk.
For a cuter look, round the corners of the triangle before or after painting.
Let the Christmas tree craft dry completely before proudly showcasing your child’s festive creation!
You can also attach string to it and transform this craft into a lovely looking Christmas tree ornament.
Happy crafting!
