Snowman find and color the CVC word sheets give kids a fun way to practice reading CVC words while up and moving. They’re great for kindergarten literacy centers!
Snowman Find and Color the CVC Word Sheets
These free printable snowman find and color sheets are offered in color or black and white. Then, there are printable snowball cards with corresponding pictures on them to match the CVC words.
Students will look at the images and match them to the CVC words on the snowman. This gives them lots of engaging practice with phonics skills like blending sounds to read CVC words.
This activity is perfect for kindergarten students during small groups or independent center times.
If you have students who don’t like to color, try this!
Place the snowman pages into write and wipe pockets or laminate them. Then, give the students a dry-erase marker to cross off the letters they find instead of coloring them.
Or give them a manipulative to mark off their CVC words for an even easier way to play. You can use an eraser, counters, pom poms, winter erasers, or snap cubes.

How to Use the Snowman Find and Color the CVC Word Sheets
Put the picture cards in a pile. Students will pull one card at a time and determine what they see. Then, they will locate the matching CVC word on their sheets and color the space. They can also cover it with a manipulative if you prefer.
They continue drawing cards until all of their CVC words are colored!
To get your students up and moving, send them on a fun CVC word hunt! Place the CVC picture cards all around the room. Students will look for the cards and then find each matching word on their sheet.
There is a black and white and color version of the snowman so you can choose the one that works best for you.
