This adorable cardboard gingerbread man in his craft stick gingerbread house is an easy Christmas ornament for kids of all ages to make. It’s guaranteed to be one of the sweetest homemade ornaments on your Christmas tree this year.
Around this time of year, I become a little obsessed with gingerbread crafts, so the kids and I have made a lot of them over the years.

As you know, the inspiration for many of the Christmas ornaments we make here in my daycare come from the store-bought ornaments hanging on my Christmas tree.
One of my favourite store-bought ornaments is the gingerbread man in his gingerbread house pictured below. I’ve always thought that would be a fun ornament for the kids to make using basic craft supplies.
Last week, we did it, and I think the results were pretty darn awesome.
We used craft sticks to make the gingerbread house, and cut the gingerbread man out of a cereal box. Then we added texture with paint and some sweet details with cotton balls, craft gems, yarn and buttons.
