We’ll be using one fall staple to make another and use apples to make pumpkins! This simple apple stamping pumpkin art is an easy art project suitable for all ages and the results are really wonderful.
We made scary pumpkin apple prints last year, but this time, we wanted to share a simple art project that’s great to make throughout fall.

We love how the colors really pop with this project. Kids will explore different art techniques while working on this one.
While this project can easily be done with just the orange paint, using more paints together takes it to a whole new level.
How to Make the Apple Stamping Pumpkin Art
What you need:
- apple
- knife
- cutting board
- washable paints (red, yellow, and orange)
- white cardstock
- paper plate or a tray
- crayons (green and brown)
Step by Step Tutorial
Grab a paper plate or a tray and squeeze some yellow, orange, and red washable paint onto it.
It will serve as your little artist’s palette!
Cut an apple in half; the shape of it is more than perfect for making a pumpkin stamp.
Have the kids dip the apple half into the paints.
It’s time to start stamping.
The paint should be covering the whole apple half (you can use a brush to spread it if there is need).
Gently press the paint-covered apple onto the cardstock, making the first apple print.
Have kids make more apple prints, dipping the apple into paint each time so that the colors remain vibrant.
We just love how the colors mixed up together.
Allow the paint to dry completely before proceeding to the next step.
Use a brown or green crayon to draw stems on their apple prints.
These apple prints are already starting to resemble pumpkins but we’re not done yet!
Using a green crayon, draw green spirals next to each of the stems.
No need for all of them to be swirly (but swirls do look extra pumpkin-y).
Next, use a brown crayon to draw rounded lines across the apple prints, giving them the classic pumpkin look.
The apple print pumpkins are done!
We think these apple-stamping pumpkins look amazing!
It’s a super easy project that’s great to do either at home or in the classroom.
We hope your kids will enjoy making this one!
