Aurora Boulevard Park at North Lakes

With North Lakes’ growing population being primarily made up of young families, it is no wonder that parks and playgrounds like the fantastic Aurora Boulevard Park are springing up everywhere.

The playground at Aurora Boulevard Park in North Lakes is suitable for both big and little Brisbane Kids (and even your family dog).

At this unfenced playground, the main attraction is the large climbing net with slide. Older children and confident climbers can scale the nets before sliding back down to the bottom or maybe just hanging around checking out the view. 

For the younger children there is a separate play area which includes a motorbike rocker, hammock, cubby house, truck play unit and 5-way swings, which are covered by shade sails.

Electric barbeques and sheltered picnic tables are also available for use near the playground, as are public toilet amenities. This is where you will also find the fenced dog off-leash park with agility course. 

Sporting Opportunities at Aurora Boulevard Park

If you are looking to enjoy some sporting adventures then you have come to the right place. Not far from the playground you will find a basketball half-court and a skate ramp. If you are feeling super energetic, try your hand (and your feet) at the outdoor fitness equipment. 

On the other side of the park you can find netball courts, but be mindful that the local netball club uses these courts and has priority access. Past the courts you can enjoy ball games, kicking a ball, or flying a kite on the large grassy fields.

Imagination Factor at Aurora Boulevard Park

The awesome climbing net allows for lots of imaginary play at this North Lakes playground. Whether it is used for escaping giant spiders, climbing to the top of the rocket or whooshing down the slide, this play equipment is perfect for slightly older Brisbane Kids.

Younger Brisbane Kids can play truck drivers on the smaller play equipment or use the cubby as a shop, house or café. To slow things down, some children may prefer to laze on the hammock and daydream or enjoy some cloud spotting.

Accessibility at Aurora Boulevard Park

Aurora Boulevard Park is not considered an overly accessible playground. It does however have concrete paths running from the carpark to the playground, and has accessible toilets. 

The playground is unfenced, on a bark base and is partially covered by shade sails and does not contain any specific equipment which is deemed accessible. 

There are bike and walking paths suited to wheelchair and pram use around the play areas.  Picnic tables and electric barbeques are available and are mostly shaded.

What We Love About Aurora Boulevard Park

This playground north of Brisbane is a great little park to spend time at. We usually spend small chunks of time at each area – climbing the net, shooting hoops, kicking the footy and having a go on the exercise equipment. 

It can get rather hot due to minimal shade, so keep this in mind when visiting.
