Alice in Balmain Fall Winter 2022 during our weekend in Paris
If you follow us on Instagram, you know that some weeks ago we spent a weekend in Paris. For us, this was the fourth time in the Ville Lumière and, we are sure, it was not the last! Once again, we found ourselves thinking that “Paris is Always a Good Idea” … just as Audrey Hepburn once said.
Indeed, before the pandemic, this was kind of a traditional appointment for us. Every year, daddy attends the SIAL, the most important food trade show in France, that takes place in Paris and we got used to going there with him. With this trip, we have finally returned, exactly three years later – see also here!
This time, thanks to the presence of uncles and cousins, we went to see things and areas of the city that we had never seen before. Among them is the Palais-Royal.
The Palais-Royal is a former royal palace located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris which today houses the Council of State, the Constitutional Council, and the Ministry of Culture. Behind the Council of State is the Courtyard of Honour created in the 18th century on a foundation made by Victor Louis. In 1986 the Ministry of Culture sponsored a sculptural work in the courtyard called “Photo-Souvenir – Les Deux Plateaux”, more commonly known as the Colonnes de Buren (the Buren’s columns), by Daniel Buren. The work, which occupies 3000 square meters of the courtyard, consists of 260 short columns of three different heights, made of white marble with black and white stripes.

Alice wears a wonderful black tutu dress with gold metallic logo-knit horizontal striped pattern from Balmain Fall Winter 2022 collection. The bodice is made with a soft cotton-cashmere blend and is connected to the skirt thanks to an elasticised belt. We have styled it with a black beret and a pair of sophisticated Parisian-style black glasses. We completed the look with a pair of black boots from Morelli fall winter 2022 collection.

Alice wears a glamorous pair of black gritty amphibian in soft black leather with application of zircons and pearls at the insole. The boots are embellished with black satin laces (although the shoes come with an additional pair of traditional cotton laces). The fit is facilitated by an internal zip closure. The sole is in non-slip rubber.
