How to Make the Bubble Wrap Corn Craft

What you need:

  • pencil
  • scissors
  • glue
  • bubble wrap
  • yellow paint (acrylic is great)
  • paintbrush
  • white cardstock
  • color paper (green)

Step by Step Tutorial

Prepare a sheet of white cardstock or art paper. You can use regular print paper although it might wrinkle a lot.

Step 1Step 1

Tip: prepare rectangle sized sheets of paper beforehand and supply kids with bubble wrap that’s about the same size. This way you avoid wasting paper and bubble wrap.

Step 2Step 2

Have the kids paint the bubble wrap with yellow paint (on the side where the bubbles are).

You can use watercolors or any other liquid colors to cover the bubble wrap – we used acrylic paint.

Step 3Step 3

Have kids turn the bubble wrap face-down and place it onto the white cardstock to make a print.

Step 4Step 4

Press down the bubble wrap, then have them slowly remove the bubble wrap and let it dry for a few minutes.

If you don’t have bubble wrap, you can have the kids use Q-tips to make dots for the kernels or use their fingers to make them.

Step 5Step 5

Have kids cut out a corn shape.

Step 6Step 6

Take a green color paper and fold it in half.

Step 7Step 7

Draw a leaf-like shape and cut it out to get two leaves of the same size.

Step 8Step 8

Glue the leaves on the corn.

Step 9Step 9

All done!

Step 10Step 10

These can be strung together to make a cool classroom decoration or pinned on the harvest-themed bulletin board.
