How to Make the Crepe Paper Jellyfish Craft
What you need:
- pencil
- scissors
- glue
- blue color crepe paper
- black cardstock
- toilet paper roll
- two big googly eyes
- ruler
- black liner
- craft knife
Let’s start!
Step by Step Tutorial
The Body
Mark a line at 3 cm on the toilet paper roll.
Cut following the line with your scissors or use a craft knife.
Cut out a piece of blue color crepe paper big enough to wrap the paper roll piece with it.
Apply some glue on the paper roll and then wrap the paper roll piece with the blue crepe paper.
Place the paper roll on a piece of black cardstock and trace a circle.
Draw two extension parts to the circle.
Cut out the circle with the extensions.
Glue it on a piece of blue crepe paper.
Cut out the excess crepe paper around the circle.
Apply some glue on the extensions and attach them inside the paper roll so the circle closes one end of the paper roll completely.
This will be the body of the jellyfish.
Glue the googly eyes on the jellyfish.
Take the black liner and draw a tiny circular mouth.
The Tentacles
Take a piece of blue crepe paper and make some cuts on it, as shown.
These strips will be the tentacles of the jellyfish.
Fold this piece in a zig-zag way.
Like you would make an accordion fold.
Go around the tentacles with scissors (cut curves in and out) to make them wavy.
Unfold the tentacles.
Twist the top part where the tentacles meet with your fingers.
Apply some glue on the top part.
Glue the tentacles inside the toilet paper roll.
Press the crepe paper with your fingers until the glue dries.
All done!
