Turkey in disguise is a fun project kids love to do, and it’s a great way to encourage them to do some creative writing. After all, it’s not enough just to make the disguise; you need to know why it will work just to be super sure the turkey won’t be discovered.

How to Assemble the Disguise a Turkey as a Koala Printable Template
What you need:
- our printable template (you can get the free printable at the end of the tutorial, or you can get the whole set of over 25 disguises)
- paper – regular print paper is OK, heavier print paper, cardstock is even better
- colorins supplies
- glue, scissors
Step by Step Tutorial
Print the sheet that has the I am not a turkey, I am… text on it, as well as one regular turkey template. You will also need the sheet with koala disguise parts.
Color the printout with the text to look like a normal turkey.
The other sheet is where the disguise will be made, so have the kids color it acordingly.
Also color the koala parts. Cut out the parts as well as the body with the disguise.
Start adding the disguise parts. The nose will cover the beak,
Glue on all the other parts to make the disguise complete.
Now take the first sheet and make a fold along the dashed line.
Apply glue in the middle…
And stick on the koala-disguised turkey, making sure it’s neatly aligned with the regular-looking turkey.
All done! And this is where the fun begins.
With this craft, your kids can put on a disguise on their turkey and take if off at will.
Now all there’s left to do is have your kids write about the disguise and why they think it works.
