Soccer Ball Drawing
Learning how to draw a soccer ball is a little more complex than a basketball or football, thanks to all their pentagon shapes. Some more thought is involved, but that’s not to say it can’t be done with a little help. This tutorial directs students in how to start their pattern with a center one, and then gradually work out until their entire ball is filled with that pattern.
Soccer, also called football in many countries, is a game in which two teams of 11 players, using any part of their bodies except their hands and arms, try to get the ball into the opposing team’s goal. Only the goalkeeper is permitted to use theirs and hands and may do so only within a specific area near the goal. The team that scores more goals wins. With about 4 billion followers, soccer is by far the most watched sport on the entire planet!
Bonus Tip: Color the black pentagon shapes first with a black crayon, and then trace the other seam lines with a light gray crayon. The result is a nice subtle shadow that gives the ball slightly padded look.

- Drawing Paper. This is the good stuff you can buy in bulk for a good price.
- Pencils. I like how this brand always makes nice dark lines.
- Black Marker. A permanent marker will give you a dark black color.
- Crayons. The larger packs are nice for more color choices.

Directions
Draw a Soccer Ball Easy
- Draw (or trace!) a circle.
- Draw a tilted pentagon in the center.
- Add extending lines from each point.
- Finish one pentagon as shown.
- Finish the next pentagon shape.
- And finish another pentagon shape.
- Finish the last two as shown.
- Draw the final lines extending from each point as shown.
- Trace with a marker and color. Add gray crayon over the seams for a slight shadow.
