This no-yeast pizza dough is a life-saver when you want to make homemade pizza but you don’t have any yeast. Just stir the ingredients and knead for 2-3 minutes. It’s perfect for one family-size pizza or 6 mini pizzas for the kids.
The other day I shared the recipe for my no-knead, no-rise pizza crust, and heard back from several people saying they couldn’t make it because they didn’t have any yeast.
Knowing that yeast can be hard to get right now, I decided to tweak the recipe to see if this dough could be made without it.
I’m happy to report that it can be!
Baking Powder is a Substitute for Yeast!
After doing some googling, I learned that baking powder is a “dry chemical leavening agent”, and can be used as a substitute for yeast when making pizza crust. I decided to try it out with my no-knead pizza dough recipe, and I made these mini pizzas for my family.
We loved them so much, we made them again the very next night!
I can’t tell you how happy I am to know we can still have homemade pizza even if my yeast supply runs out!
