We’re also excited to partner with marblemedia and TVOKids to tell you about a delightful new kids’ series that kind and crafty kids will love.

Super Mighty Makers – Crafting for Kindness

Super Mighty Makers features a team of kid super-heroes and their leader, Bondini (uber-crafter and blimp pilot), who help real-life crafty kids uplift others with thoughtful, one-of-a-kind crafts.

Each episode begins with Bondini alerting the Super Mighty Makers about a real-life crafty kid who requires their assistance because someone they know – a new child at school, an elderly neighbour, a struggling friend or family member – is in need of some special kindness.

The Super Mighty Makers “sparkle up” the crafty kid into the Craft Blimp to learn what the problem is, and together, they set off on a MAKER MISSION to create a unique and thoughtful craft to uplift the person in need.

Once the maker mission is completed, they “sparkle down” the crafty kid and watch on as the gift is delivered to its recipient.

When Can You Watch Super Mighty Makers?

Tune in to TVOKids to watch new episodes of Super Mighty Makers on Saturday mornings at 10:30 am (ET).  You can catch repeats on Tuesdays at 5:50 pm (ET), Sundays at 4:55 pm (ET), or any time on TVOKids YouTube Channel.

The Super Mighty Makers motto, “making the world a better place, one craft at a time”, is fitting, and the series is sure to inspire your kids to deliver the message of kindness through some crafts of their own.

They can get started with this Framed Kindness Cloud Craft!

To make our Framed Kindness Cloud Craft you’ll need:

  • picture frame (or a dollar store canvas and blue paint)
  • white cardstock cloud
  • cardstock strips in rainbow colours
  • marker
  • glue stick
  • glitter
  • scissors

How to Make a Framed Kindness Cloud Craft for World Kindness Day

If you’re working with a picture frame, use a blue piece of card stock for the background. If you’re working on a canvas, start by painting your canvas light blue.

We used diluted liquid watercolour paint for this step, but you could also use acrylic paint or poster paint.

Next, have your child write his or her friend’s name, in marker, on the cloud.

Now, have your child think up some of the unique qualities that he or she really admires in his or her friend.

My daycare hooligans brainstormed their lists, writing down all the words they could think of. This was a good opportunity for them to practice spelling some of the more challenging words before making their craft.

From their lists, they chose 6 words that best described their friend, and they wrote each word on the rainbow-coloured strips.

Before gluing any of the pieces in place, they played around with the arrangement making sure their coloured strips were in rainbow order and ensuring that all of the pieces would fit and display nicely on their canvases and in their picture frames.

Then they glued their coloured strips in place.

Now for the glitter!

The kids went around the edges of their clouds with a glue stick, and then dipped the clouds into the glitter.

They shook them gently to remove any excess glitter and then glued the clouds to their canvases and card stock. Some of the kids chose to finish by adding a little extra glitter to the background of their art.

MAKER MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

What a wonderful craft for World Kindness Day. What child wouldn’t be honoured to give or receive such a thoughtful handmade gift.

We hope your kids will enjoy making these kindness clouds as much as we did!

Marblemedia and TVOKids would love to see your finished Kindness Clouds, so be sure to snap a photo and share it on social media with the hashtag #MightyMakerMovement.
