Simple Ways to Make Vacation Fun for Kids
Are you preparing for an upcoming vacation or travel adventures with your kids ? Or maybe you want to have a learning theme about vacations ? Perhaps you’re getting ready for a vacation or travel-themed lesson or week for your students?

Traveling with kids can be a blast – and a challenge. That’s why I love to gather and use free road trip printables to keep my boys busy and engaged. It’s so nice to have these types of print-and-go activities to use before a trip (so you can get important stuff like packing done!) and during your travels.
Although my boys are older now, I’ve used many printable resources like these vacation coloring sheets. I found these printables to be helpful to spark conversation about the upcoming trip (and talk about any concerns), as well as to have quiet activities for creative outlet.

The free printable pack has eight vacation-inspired color by number pages .
Each page has sections with numbers to guide on which color to use in that area. Your young learners will get to practice number recognition, color recognition, and color names!

Benefits of Color by Number Activities
Did you know that color by number activities can be super fun AND beneficial? These types of coloring activities are amazing ways to boost skill development and boost confidence. Here some of the benefits that I’ve experienced over the years with my boys:

Ideas for Using These Color by Number Worksheets

Tip: Print out extra copies of these vacation pages. Your children may want to do do multiple copies OR you may want to join the fun!
A great idea to help your travelers take these vacation printables to the next level is by letting them choose their coloring tools . My boys prefer crayons, colored pencils, or markers. We’ve also had success with thin Kwik Stix (tempera paint sticks) and oil pastels for bold colors.
Display each of the completed pages after your students color them in. Place on your refrigerator, cork board, wall, hallway, bulletin board, or other frequently viewed areas.During your coloring time, play music in the background as your kids work on their activities. Try calming or energizing music based on what you’d like your students to do.
Consider cutting out the finished project (just cut along the solid black line) and glue on construction paper or decorative cardstock. This step makes quite a colorful picture or poster!
