Halloween Events for Kids In Brisbane 2024


The roots of Halloween go back far beyond modern American traditions. At Brisbane Kids, we are very aware lots of families not only enjoy Halloween but would like ideas on how to celebrate it. To us, it’s just another excuse to have fun, dress up and be silly!

We will continue to add to this list right up to and including Halloween, so make sure you keep checking this article so you don’t miss out on any of the spooky fun!

When is Halloween? Halloween is officially recognised on the 31st of October annually. This year, Halloween falls on Thursday 31st October 2024.

Our calendar is brimming with Halloween events for kids in Brisbane this year, and as Halloween falls on a Thursday in 2024, there will be a lot of events being held over the entire weekend in the lead up to and even the weekend after Halloween.

🎃 Spooky Putt Putt – Victoria Park

When: 13 September – 3 November 2024

Where: Victoria Park

What: Tee off amidst the creepy clowns of Carn-evil, then venture into the otherworldly fun of Alien Invasion. As you navigate the VP Graveyard, stay vigilant—the friendly zombies might just reach out for a ghastly handshake!

🎃 Halloween Spooktacular @ The Morgue at Rochedale

When: 5-9pm, Saturday 26th October | 2-9pm, Sunday 27th October (Family Fright Fest) | 5-9pm, Thursday 31st October | 5-9pm, Friday 1st November | 2-9pm, Saturday 2nd November 2024 (Family Fright Fest) 

Where: Rochedale Tigers RLFC, 956-1028 Underwood Road, Priestdale

What: This event features three exciting mazes: a kids’ maze (entrance at the side of the field), a general maze for all ages (entrance at the front of the clubhouse), and an optional super-scary maze, recommended for those 12 and older. Visitors will also enjoy a variety of food and dessert trucks, a bar, raffles, and plenty of fun kids’ activities, including the popular candy cannon. On Family Fright Fest days, there will be market stalls, extra food trucks, family entertainment, kids’ activities, face painting, a bouncy castle, and pumpkin carving competitions.

🎃 Halloween at The Ginger Factory

When: 9am – 5pm, Monday 28th October – Sunday 3rd November 2024

Where: The Ginger Factory, 50 Pioneer Rd, Yandina

What: In an event packed with thrills and chills for the whole family, and where everyone is encouraged to dress in their best spooky costumes, The Ginger Factory will transform into a Halloween wonderland filled with exciting family fun. On 31st October, little trick-or-treaters can collect sweets as they explore the grounds. Each day features the Haunted House in the barn, the eerie Spooky Trail, and a Graveyard for the bravest visitors.

🎃 The Witches Market – Halloween Market @ Rocklea Showgrounds

When: 18 October 2024, 2pm – 9pm

Where: Rocklea Showgrounds, 118 Goburra St, Rocklea

What: Step into a world reminiscent of Diagon Alley, brimming with all things magical. Say goodbye to the ordinary shopping experience—this market has everything you need, from unique and whimsical gifts to elusive magical supplies and wands that could rival those found anywhere.

When: 25 October 2024, 5pm – 9pm

Where: Old Petrie Town, 901 Dayboro Road, Whiteside

What: Halloween Night Markets at Old Petrie Town are back, and it’s time for a frightfully fun evening filled with chills and thrills. On this eerie night, the streets will come alive with roaming zombies and witches, setting the stage for a truly spooky experience.

🎃 Caboolture Halloween Twilight Market

When: 26 October 2024, 4pm – 9pm

Where: Caboolture Showgrounds, Caboolture

What: Bring the whole family for a great night out at the Annual Halloween Twilight Market, with a large array of stalls. Trick-or-treating for the kids. Come dressed as your favorite character, see if you can win the Best Dressed Comp and enjoy the large assortment of Food stalls, sweet and savoury.

🎃 Halloween Haven @ Morayfield Indoor Sports

When: 26 October 2024, 3pm – 9pm

Where: Morayfield Sport & Events Centre, 298 Morayfield Road, Morayfield

What: Enjoy an evening of spooky surprises, fantastic costumes, and Halloween fun at Morayfield Indoor Sports that you won’t want to miss! The event will feature costume parades with prizes for both kids and adults, as well as awards for the best-dressed stall holders and the most creatively decorated stalls. Enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the venue, and explore themed stalls offering wiccan wares and Halloween decorations.

🎃 Halloween Spooktacular @ Ipswich Showgrounds

When: 26 October 2024, 3pm – 9pm

Where: Ipswich Showgrounds, 81 Warwick Road, Ipswich

What: Shake the webs off your broomsticks and prepare for an evening of frights and fun from 3pm to 9pm. With food trucks, kids’ activities, and so much more, the Halloween Spooktacular is an event you won’t want to miss!

Thursday 31st October 2024

🎃 Village of the Damned

When: 31 October 2024, 5pm – 9pm

Where: Caboolture Historical Village, 280 Beerburrum Road, Caboolture

What: Visitors of all ages are invited to dress up and join in the festivities, which include interactive displays, static displays, some trick or treating, scares, and a mini mystical market for all your enchanting essentials. A special feature for this year’s theme, “Village of the Damned”, you can join in for a zombie walk through the village, ending in even more zombie fun with a lively Zombie Rave with DJ Rotting Flesh (AKA: DJ Danny).

🎃 Hocus Pocus

When: 31 October 2024, 3pm – 8pm

Where: Bulimba Memorial Park, Oxford Street, Bulimba

What: Join Hocus Pocus, Brisbane’s premier Halloween festival for kids, located in the heart of Bulimba at Memorial Park. The kid friendly celebration will include live DJ Shorty Brown, Trick-or-Treat Lane, inflatable rides and games for all ages, live performances that will leave you spellbound with delight, DELICIOUS food trucks, and amazing market stalls.

🎃 The Haunted Passage – Doomsday 2024

When: 31 October 2024, 2pm – 9pm

Where: Cavill Lane, 3113 Surfers Paradise Boulevard, Surfers Paradise

What: On Halloween, Cavill Lane in Surfers Paradise will be transformed for one massive day and night of spooky festivities. With free entry*, you’ll be immersed in a haunting experience as daytime fun turns into nighttime scares.

🎃 Samford Spooky Spectacular

When: 31 October 2024, 4pm – 8pm

Where: John Scott Park, 33 Main Street, Samford Village

What: Visitors can enjoy trick-or-treating along Main Street, groove to the tunes of a live band, and compete in the Monster Mash Costume Competition. The event also features a fog-filled graveyard, a haunted pirate ship jumping castle, and bewitched market stalls. Frightfully delicious dining options will be available throughout the night, and there’s plenty of Moreton Money Pirate Treasure up for grabs.

🎃 Nightmare on Bogong Street

When: 31 October 2024, 5pm – 8pm

Where: Bogong Street, Riverhills

What: This annual and free Halloween event is back; spookier, kookier, and more spectacular than ever before! Families can look forward to a magical evening filled with friendly ghosts, whimsical decorations, costume parades, markets, and a treasure trove of treats for all ages.

🎃 Brookfield Halloween

When: 1 November 2024, 4pm – 10pm

Where: Brookfield Bar, Brookfield Showgrounds, 550 Brookfield Road, Brookfield

What: This community-focused, family-friendly event is the perfect way to unwind and celebrate Halloween, even a day after the official date. With free entry and a welcoming atmosphere, it’s open to all. Enjoy a range of entertainment, food trucks, and a bar serving drinks throughout the night, as well as market stalls offering something for everyone.

🎃 Day of the Dead – Interactive Expo

When: 2 November 2024, 4pm – 8pm

Where:Coorparoo School of Arts & Memorial Hall, 208-210 Cavendish Road, Coorparoo

What: This family-friendly event offers a unique cultural experience filled with art, food, and fun activities for all ages. Celebrate this iconic Mexican tradition that features a traditional altar, literary rhymes contest, informative mural, short film screening, Catrinas costume contest, children’s workshops, delicious food, and performances by Son de México Ballet Folklórico and México en la piel.

Brisbane Kids Halloween Soundtrack

Whether you are driving around this Halloween, having a spooky party or just wanting a soundtrack to the eeriest time of the year, turn up the speakers and turn on the Brisbane Kids Halloween Top 40, which can be found on Spotify. 

Where to Trick or Treat in Brisbane

Haunted houses and trick or treating have become extremely popular across Brisbane at Halloween. Come October many Brisbane Kids are begging to hit the streets in the hunt to fill their bags full of treats.
