Lemke Park in Albany Creek is an excellent park for active families. Play in the playground, walk, ride or scoot around the track, check out the skate park or kick a ball on the expansive field. It is a great place to visit on a sunny day and spend a few hours in the great outdoors.
Lemke Park playground
Designed to accommodate a wide range of ages, Lemke Park is a great spot to catch up with friends for a playdate or a playgroup meet-up.
There’s a small play fort for the toddlers boasting a rope bridge, fire pole, small slide, climbing wall, ladder and interactive play panels.
A larger tower has a notable presence and while designed for the older children, toddlers are able to access the lower level via a climbing wall and walk through to a small slide.
Access to the upper level requires a bit more skill but is perfect for challenging developing kids. Once children reach the upper level, they will be rewarded with a small flying fox and a large slide.
Adjacent to the towers is two pieces of spinning equipment, a three-way rocker, and a swing set with a single toddler swing and a standard swing.
The playground is in the corner of the park, with a large grassy area which is encircled by a concrete path. The pathway is perfectly flat and is the ideal place for younger kids to scooter around while their older siblings make the most of the adjacent skate park.
Tucked away in another corner of the park is fitness equipment. If you are getting the impression this is quite an expansive area you would be right, you could easily set up a soccer game or cricket on the field.
Accessibility at Lemke Park
While Lemke park has all the required amenities, which are all connected by concrete paths and ramp, this probably isn’t the best park for inclusive play. For those with limited mobility, there is very little to do. None of the play equipment is suited for wheelchairs or those with limited physical capabilities.
Concrete paths do join up to the covered picnic facilities and also pass by the ‘Happy to chat’ bench, where visitors are invited to sit, if they would like to have a chat with others.
For those looking for more inclusive play equipment, Kidspace at Chermside would be a better option or perhaps The Hills District All-Abilities Playground at Arana Hills.
Imagination Factor at Lemke Park
Lemke Park is a fantastic park to create an obstacle course, with numerous age-appropriate challenging elements. Scale the cargo netting to the top of your castle, or pretend to be a fireman sliding down the pole, an explorer climbing a rock wall, crossing a rope bridge the swinging from branch to branch along the monkey bars.
For energetic children (and adults) bring your bikes or scooters and race around the circuit.
The Albany Creek Skate Park
In the opposing corner of the park (toward the shopping centre) is the popular Albany Creek Skate Park (which is visible from the main road).
Revamped in August 2024, the park includes an open spine bowl, quarter pipes and street style obstacles such as rails, ledges, grind boxes and banks.
There is tiered concrete seating, a shelter with additional seating, a water tap and some shade provided by established trees
Next to the skate park is a half-court basketball court.

What We Thought of Lemke Park
Lemke Park offers a little something for everyone in the family. It is wonderful there is a grassed area beside the playground, so if you have children kicking a ball and others using the equipment it is easy to keep an eye on them.
The shade sails were greatly appreciated, as were the picnic shelter and toilets. Next time we will bring the scooters and make use of the track that skirts the edge of the grassed area.
While You Are in the Area
While you are in the area, why not check out Kumbartcho Sanctuary at Eaton’s Hill. It’s a hidden gem with a small environment centre, playground, fairy garden and walking trails.
