I have included a set of uppercase letter formation cards and a set of lowercase letter formation cards, so you can easily differentiate.

Low Prep Alphabet Activity!
These letter tracing task cards are so easy to prep! Just print out the pages and cut the cards apart. Then, laminate them so students can use dry-erase markers to practice writing and matching. Or you could keep four cards to a page and slide them into a wipe-and-write pocket for even quicker prep.
Grab some clothespins or clips to allow students to clip the correct match at the bottom of each card.
Setting Up the Alphabet Letter Formation & Matching Task Cards

Supplies Needed:
- Letter Formation and Matching Task Cards (button to download at the bottom of this post)
- Dry erase markers
- Mini clothespins or snap cubes to mark the letters
- Write and wipe pockets
Directions:
- Print the letter tracing pages, cut the cards apart and laminate them. Or you can slide them into write and wipe pockets, for a no-prep option.
- Gather dry-erase markers and store everything in a photo box or a zippered mesh bag for easy access.
How to Use the Letter Activity
These cards are very simple to use. Students will take a card from the pile and trace the letter formation font with their fingers or a dry-erase marker. Then, they will look at the letters on the bottom and clip the matching letter.
Other Ways to Use the Alphabet Cards
This alphabet activity provides students with two different ways to interact with each letter. Students can practice tracing the letters, and once they are ready, the matching component can be added to work on lowercase to uppercase letter matching.
You can make the cards self-checking by adding a small dot or sticker to the back that marks the correct choice. After choosing, students can flip the card over to check their answers.
To add more fine motor skills practice to this letter tracing activity, have students use play dough to make the letter. They can roll it into snakes, form the letter, or smash pieces and fill it. They can also use play dough to mark the correct letter on each card.
