Learning Letters and Letter Sounds
When you are ready to use the cards, place them in a mesh bag or task card box. The kids can grab them during independent work times to practice letter recognition and letter sounds!
To play, the kids will pick a game board task card and grab the dice and two different mini erasers.
Each player will take turns rolling the dice and moving that many spaces on the game board. When they land on a letter they will say the letter name and the sound the letter makes. This continues until one player reaches the last space on the game board.
Students can play the same board game again or pick another one and play it next. If you would like, you can also ask students to record each letter they land on by writing it on a piece of paper. This gives them even more practice with each letter.
Students can just say the letter name, if they are not ready to say the sound. They can work on one card and play several times or use several different cards and play each one once.
