STELLA McCARTNEY KIDS LAUNCHES LIMITED-EDITION SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS CAPSULE
Stella McCartney Kids debuts a limited-edition unisex capsule in collaboration with Paramount’s Nickelodeon, celebrating the 25th anniversary of SpongeBob SquarePants. Titled Stella McCartney Kids x SpongeBob SquarePants, iconic characters from the series feature on ready-to-wear, swimwear, footwear and vegan accessories for girls and boys, aged 0 to 14.
Research published in the journal Nature Climate Change has found that approximately 90% of all marine life on Earth will be at risk of extinction by 2100 if greenhouse gas emissions are not curbed. Fashion accounts for 20 to 35% of all the microplastic that flows into the ocean (McKinsey). The industry is also responsible for approximately 20% of global freshwater pollution (JustOneOcean).
The Stella McCartney Kids x SpongeBob SquarePants capsule is crafted using 93% conscious and 100% cruelty-free materials, protecting our fellow creatures and Mother Earth for future generations. It energises a coastal cool, with pieces blending beach and skater aesthetics across light crochet knits, denim and tie-dye loungewear, all in organic cotton. Bombers, bags and swimwear are woven in recycled materials, keeping more plastic waste out of our oceans.
The selection includes acid wash yellow and vintage wash organic cotton denim sets embroidered with the whole Bikini Bottom gang, alongside a crochet line-up in bright yellow featuring SpongeBob SquarePants himself. A tie-dye theme bursts onto organic cotton jersey, fleece and denim sets, with fun Stella typography iterations available in block colourways. Monochrome sketch versions are drawn on pinstripe cotton poplin sets, faded denim shorts and boxy tees.
Stella McCartney Kids x SpongeBob SquarePants will be available online at stellamccartney.com, in selected Stella McCartney boutiques globally and selected wholesalers worldwide from 20th March 2025.
