Well, this paper witch craft for kids is wonderful for all of those things and more!
Halloween can be scary for little ones. Geez, it can even be scary for me! I’ve never been one for creepy or horror stuff. I much prefer cute and kid-friendly Halloween themes.
When my boys were young, I looked for interesting ways to enjoy Halloween activities and crafts without all the spooky. This witch craft that features basic shapes was one of our favorite ways to practice scissor skills and have personalized decorations for the holiday.
Suggested Supplies for This Witch Craft for Kids
To enjoy this simple Halloween craft, you will need a few supplies. I’m sharing the basic recommendations. After this list, you’ll find my suggestions for tweaking the craft to best fit your needs.
- Construction Paper (green, orange, and black)
- Scissors
- Glue stick or white glue
- Pencil
If you’re working with younger kids (or don’t have a lot of time), prepare and cut out the shapes ahead of time. You can also use different colors of construction paper based on your child’s likes or what you have available.
Want to customize your witch craft for kids? Consider using glitter glue, washi tape, or stickers. Yarn can add a cool texture to the witch’s hair.

How to Make This Witch Craft for Kids
I suggest that you use a pencil to lightly draw the shapes on the construction paper prior to cutting.

Cut out black construction paper pieces
From the black paper, cut out two smaller circles for the eyes, a smaller rectangle for the mouth, a bigger rectangle for the hat brim, and a bigger triangle for the hat.

Make circle face shape
Cut out one large green circle for the head.

Cut out hair pieces
Using the orange paper, cut out four long rectangles for the hair and a small, long triangle for the nose.

Glue on hair
Glue the hair onto the head first. Space out the rectangles to cover the sides of the circle.

Glue on hat and brim
Glue the triangle to the back of the head and the longer black rectangle to the front to form the hat.

Glue on face pieces
Glue the eyes, nose, and mouth to the head.
