How to Make a Wood Bead Snowman Ornament
1. Paint the wood beads white.
Paint the wood beads white and set aside to dry completely.
2. Add the snowman’s face.
To make the snowman face: Use a black paint pen to draw eyes and a dotted mouth onto the painted wood bead. Then, use an orange paint pen to draw on a carrot nose and a pink paint pen to add rosy cheeks. Also add 1 small dot to each middle and bottom wood bead.
If you don’t have paint pens you can also use a toothpick or a fine paintbrush and acrylic paint to add the snowman face to the wood bead.
3. Make the earmuffs.
Cut a small piece of pipe cleaner and check to make sure it will fit over your wood bead. Bend into an upside down U shape and glue 2 small pom poms to the sides.
Glue the ear muffs to the wood bead with some hot glue (adult assistance) or tacky glue.
4. Add the twine.
We used some masking tap on the end of the twine to help thread it through the beads. Any tape should work.
Thread the twine through all 3 beads.
5. Tie the twine.
Tie the bottom twine first then you can push the beads down for tying the top.
Make a loop first for the top tie.
Now tie the loop around your finger for the top tie.
6. Make the felt scarf.
Cut a small strip of felt approximately 3.75 inches long.
Cut little slits into the ends to make the fringe.
7. Glue the scarf on.
Use hot glue or tacky glue to glue the scarf ends together. Pinch the scarf slightly at the opposite end of the fringe so that it tucks under the first bead.
These snowmen wooden bead ornaments are adorable to hang on the Christmas tree or to give as gifts this holiday season. Make one or make a bunch in different colors!
