1. Philip Johnson’s Glass House – New Canaan
The Glass House is a unique space, where CT families can experience a truly unique building. The Glass House blurs the line between indoors and outdoors. The Grounds of Philip Johnson’s estate have multiple spaces to explore, as well as unique sculptures. This New Canaan spot offers families a variety of immersive experiences courtesy of one of America’s great architects.
2. Galaxy VR – Norwalk
Located in the SoNo Collection, Galaxy VR has 20 different immersive virtual-realty games. Galaxy VR has some of the most immersive (and fun!) things to do as a family in Fairfield County.
3. Xperiment Virtual Reality – Trumbull & North Haven
With two locations, in Trumbull and North Haven, Xperiment Virtual Reality has over 80 VR games and experiences. These include escape rooms and racing! It’s one of our favorite Fun Indoor Birthday Party Places for Kids in Connecticut.

4. Connecticut Science Center – Hartford
Hartford’s Connecticut Science Center is full of interactive exhibits for kids of all ages. The Engineering Lab lets kids solve real-world problems through technology and science. The Sight and Sound space creates a multi-sensory experience of light and music. And the KidSpace is perfect for the littlest ones looking to explore and interact.
5. REACT Premium Escape Rooms – Windsor Locks
The top-notch escape rooms at REACT (good for kids 10 and up) offer fully immersive experiences and plenty of family fun!
6. Witch’s Dungeon – Plainville
Witch’s Dungeon Classic Movie Museum has props, costumes, and more from some of the biggest movies of all time. Immerse yourself in silver screen legends like Dracula and E.T. Some of the creatures at this unque museum (open on weekends) might be a bit much for the younger kids.
7. Dinosaur State Park – Rocky Hill
What could be more interactive than digging for fossils? Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill has multiple stations for exploring the science of paleontology. Get immersed in prehistoric CT, when dinosaurs ruled Hartford County!

8. Barker Museum – Cheshire
The Barker Character, Comic, and Cartoon Museum is a delightful celebration of pop culture. Its collections include everything from antique wind-up toys to Beatlemania memorabilia. Immerse yourself in cartoon and comic characters from the past century. And don’t forget your selfie with the Simpsons!
9. Vault Slime Lab – Seymour
Get immersed in slime with a trip to Vault Slime Lab in Seymour. It’s fun for any age, wheteher stopping in for some hands-on slime creation or visiting as a group. Vault will provide one of the most unique, creative, and slime-tastic interactive experiences.

10. American Mural Project – Winsted
The largest indoor collaborative art project in the world is right here in Connecticut. Immerse yourself in art on a grand scale at the American Mural Project in Winsted. The mural is five stories high and over 100 fet in length; the museum is open Fraiday to Sunday.

11. Mashantucket Pequot Museum – Mashantucket
One of the most educational immersive experiences in Connecticut, the Mashantucket Pequot Museum brings Connecticut history to life. Exhibits explore everything from the mastadons of the ice age to the traditional ways of life of Connecticut’s First Nations. This museum lets families interact with some of the most fascinating–if underappreciated–aspects of Connecticut’s story.
12. Gallery Selfie Museum at Foxwoods
The Gallery Selfie Museum provides its visitors with interactive sets for some of the most unique photo ops in Connecticut. The vignettes are themed and immersive, like the life-size Barbie package. Fit for kids and families, the museum books in hour-long intervals for groups up to 30.
13. Dinosaur Place – Oakdale
Dinosaur Place at Nature’s Art Village is an interactive hike through the Jurassic and Cretaceous Eras. See life-size dinosaurs along the trails. The Nature Center has geode cutting, “gold” panning, and gem digging activities as well for plenty of hands-on, interactive fun. Dinosaur Place has other fun activities, like mini-golf and a giant maze, for an all-day immersive dinosaur experience.
